When a courageous young woman is startled awake by vicious stomach pain, she’s forced to confront the battlefield of her pregnant body, and the shadows of her Mother’s tragic past.

In the narrative short film BIRTHING, we bear witness to Ava’s tumultuous miscarriage and we breathe with her as she grapples with the reality of her baby’s death. Although her husband attempts to provide support, Ava is flooded with intergenerational fears of hospitals and birthing.

A vivid cinematic language and naturalistic performances blend to shape this devastating, yet ultimately hopeful character study. Andie wrote and directed this character study, which will played at festivals including Cat Fly, Full Bloom Film Festival, Charlotte Film Festival and Atlanta Underground Film Festival.
